Reis founded by Gaston in partnership with his nephew Rene Bannwart in the year 1955, Corum soon reached a high reputation not only for the high quality of their watches, but also for the originality of their designs. Representative examples are the “Golden Tube”, the “Chinese Hat” and “Longchamp” (with their ears hidden), all of them collector’s items. As technological innovation is the “Golden Bridge”, in which the tiny loaves of machinery being carried out in 18-carat gold and has a train of gears straight, all suspended in a crystal of sapphire. But the most famous collection of Corum is the “Admiral’s Cup,” with boxes of twelve sides that correspond with the twelve hours of the quadrant, pennants that mark the hours of 1 to 12 in the international maritime code. For some time, this company no longer manufactures all its machinery, but chooses the best of other brands, Piaget and Jaeger-LeCoultre, but all the watches that bear his name, whether quartz or mechanical, are finished by hand by the artisans of the firm.
